“Last week we planned to hold a rally near the SKF head office. It is the largest manufacturer of bearings in the world and in Russia.
Bearings are one of the key elements for the production of Russian cars (including those that transport tanks to our borders). These parts are also supplied to KAMAZ and GAZ plants. Therefore, the issue of bearings is not only economic, but also purely military.
SKF owns a large plant in Tver and has not made any official statements about leaving Russia (which is why we planned to picket their office).
But now we know that SKF has stopped its plant! The supply of bearings has stopped! This was announced on the company's internal portal by its president.
Experts say that in Russia there are 1-2 months of inventory of bearings left.
In addition to SKF, there are two other major foreign manufacturers of bearings in Russia — the American companies Amsted Rail and Timken. These companies have not yet made official statements either — activists in the states of Illinois and Ohio should get ready..."
